A Working Angler's Guide

Here at Blue Collar Fishing Guide, my goal is to help you shorten the learning curve of bass fishing on Central Texas lakes. Through countless hours spent on the water, I'll share the techniques, seasonal patterns, and local knowledge that help you spend less time guessing and more time catching fish. Whether you're new to bass fishing or looking to refine your skills, every trip is designed to build your confidence, improve your knowledge, and create a successful day on the water.

  • Rods, tackle, ice, and water are on us
  • Eight lakes within striking distance of Austin

Who's Behind This

Chris Studinger, New Braunfels

Chris developed a passion for fishing at a young age, spending countless hours chasing anything that would bite, from the surf to neighborhood ponds and local lakes. That passion eventually led him to Central Texas, where he now spends his time guiding clients and competing in bass tournaments across the country.

Whether you're new to Texas, visiting for a few days, or simply looking to become a better bass angler on Central Texas lakes, you're in the right place. At Blue Collar Fishing Guide, our goal is to help you catch more fish while teaching you the techniques, patterns, and decision-making behind every bite. We don't just want you to have a great day on the water. We want you to leave a more knowledgeable and confident angler.

Hard Work Over Hype

We show up early, we grind through the slow bites, and we earn the good days instead of manufacturing them for a highlight reel.

Local Water Knowledge

Having spent years on Central Texas Lakes, it has taught us what actually works here, not what works in a magazine.

Everybody's Welcome

First-timers, kids, seasoned anglers chasing a personal best, if you're willing to put in the work, we're glad to have you in the boat.

The Water Where We Work

The Scene

Every lake we work sits within about an hour and a half of Austin or San Antonio. Pick a lake on the map, or from the row underneath it, and its write-up, drive times, and photos come up with it.
